The 2014 Ford Focus Value Doesn’t Compare to the Civic

2014 Honda Civic 800 2When you look for a small car, you are typically looking for affordability, but you are also looking for value. At Mid-Michigan Honda Dealers, we know that for many of you small car shoppers out there, the 2014 Ford Focus is on your radar for its price to features ratio.

We would like to make an alternate suggestion: the 2014 Honda Civic. Let’s see how these two compare in features and fuel economy, two of drivers’ most desired traits.

Drivers Find More in a Honda

When we say “more,” we don’t just mean Honda’s incredible selection of standard features, though they are included. Standard on entry-level Civic LX models are a suite of amenities, including:

  • Bluetooth HandsFreeLink
  • Built-in infotainment system
  • Steering wheel-mounted controls
  • Rearview camera

This already puts it ahead of many other entry-level small cars like the Focus; while the Focus does offer some comparable features, to get everything that the Civic offers, you’ll have to upgrade the vehicle.

But that’s not all, either. The entry-level 2014 Civic LX with automatic transmission gets an EPA-estimated 39 mpg on the highway and 30 mpg in the city.* These are some pretty solid fuel economy numbers, especially when Ford’s vehicle only manages 36 mpg on the highway and 26 mpg in the city.

More features. More efficient. Honda gives drivers more without making them upgrade. Is there anything more you could ask for in a small car?

Discover the Civic for Yourself

At the end of the day, you need to see the 2014 Honda Civic for yourself to know if it’s right for you, but this little comparison should serve as a primer. Look around and see if everything in the Civic is as great as it seems to be—we think you’ll agree that it’s a great value.
