The 2013 Honda Accord is an All Star

2013 Honda Accord Sedan

While we’ve been fans of the 2013 Accord since it made its debut, it is hard to argue with all of the different auto experts praising the vehicle for its features, family-friendly nature, and safety. We would have called it an All Star ourselves, but it’s nice to see that Automobile Magazine saw fit to add the vehicle to their 2013 All Star list. In fact, the Accord was the only mid-size sedan on there.

It’s almost as if the other vehicles in its class just can’t compete.

The Road to Stardom

It’s not easy to show up on the 2013 Automobile Magazine All Star list; as we said, the Accord was the only vehicle in its class that earned the distinction this year. So, what does it take for a vehicle like the Accord to receive such a prestigious honor?

Experts at Automobile Magazine evaluated hundreds of vehicles for overall value, performance testing, and features to determine which models stood out from the rest. Those first two categories should come as little surprise to drivers familiar with the Accord; always an efficient sedan, the new model receives up to an EPA-estimated 36 mpg on the highway.* And when it comes to performance, Honda models do not disappoint.

We think at least one of the largest contributing factors for the Accord’s All Star status, however, is that last category. Honda has worked hard to give their vehicle an unprecedented level of features for an entry-level model. Vehicles in the basic LX trim level include amenities such as Bluetooth, Honda’s innovative i-MID infotainment system, SMS text messaging, a rearview camera, and much more.

Other Awards for the Accord

This is far from the only award the 2013 Accord has taken home. Since the vehicle was introduced in the fall of 2012, it has earned many different awards and distinctions, such as being included on Ward’s 10 Best Engines, Car and Driver Magazine’s 10 Best, and being a North American Car of the Year Finalist. It is probably not too surprising to find out that the Accord also won Automobile Magazine’s eight-sedan comparison test.
